Digital Lucency was founded by Dr. Michael Barnes, a practicing dentist with more than twenty years of patient care experience — someone who's lived the workday this is built to improve. It comes from a forward-looking belief: as AI becomes part of everyday dentistry, it has to be shaped by the people who actually do the work — the clinicians and staff in the operatory and the patients they care for. That principle drives everything we build. Our aim is to quietly lift the repetitive, time-consuming parts of the day off your team, so their attention can go where it matters — to the people in the chair. What exists today is an early step toward something far more ambitious, and we're shaping it in the open, alongside the practices who use it.
